Forest Research Center, Dehradun
The Forest Research Institute (FRI) is an institute of the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education and is a premier institution in the field of forestry research in India. It is located at Dehradun in Uttarakhand, and is one of the oldest institutions of its kind.
The Tehri Dam is the Highest dam in India and one of the highest in the world. It is a multi-purpose rock and earth-fill embankment dam on the Bhagirathi River near Tehri in Uttarakhand, India. It is the primary dam of the THDC India Ltd. and the Tehri hydroelectric complex.
Mussoorie is a hill station and a municipal board in the Dehradun District of the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand. Students visited the place including kempty fall and mall road and enjoyed and had fun.
During this camp all the students participated actively and learnt to transfer layout of a building from drawing to the actual ground, to take the level and develop topography drawing, etc.
IGBC Student Chapter
The IGBC student chapter opened on 18th March 2016 in Hi-tech Institute of Technology, Ghaziabad in the presence of Vice chairman Sir, Director Sir, HOD of civil engineering department and respective faculty’s members.
The office bearers of IGBC were Mr. Sachin Sharma, Mr. Ishan Bhatia, Mr. Punit Aggarwal.
OBJECTIVES OF IGBC:
- Sustainable built environment to all.
- Because of many benefits IGBC is gaining importance in India.
Apart from the academic schedule, the department of Civil engineering also organized a technical Inter College Quiz competition named GAMBADE. This event was organized on 12th Nov. 2016 in which students from various colleges participated. The event was about the technical questions of different domains from Civil Engineering like Site engineering, Survey, Quality Control, Planning, etc. The students of civil department actively participated in the event and the winning students were awarded the prizes.
Our students and faculty have designed a tower with a globe at top, the name of the department and college signage mounted over globe which rotates with the help of the wind energy. (hyperlink to video)
Kol Dam Visit
Apart from the academic schedule, the department of civil engineering also initiates the recreational trip for the students. The trip was organized for the students of Civil 3rd year. It was a 4 day trip from 17 Feb 2017 to 20 feb 2017. The students visited along with their faculty members. The visit covered the following places Kol dam at Bilaspur, Manali, Solang valley and Rock Garden in Chandigarh.
The students visited the Kol dam and gathered lot of information which added to their knowledge. Also they enjoyed the natural beauty of the hills and had fun besides enriching their knowledge.
QUIZOMANIA, a quiz competition was organized by Civil Engineering Dept. The competition was open for all the students of HI Tech Institute of Engineering and Technology. The question paper was comprised of three sections viz General Aptitude, Reasoning and General Awareness based question.
The event was concluded with the prize distribution ceremony by Director of the college and the Head of the Department.
Cadbuzz: The students of Civil Engg. are also given the opportunity to participate in the various Inter College Competitions organized by other colleges. Civil 3rd year students participated in the AutoCAD competition and won the 1st prize and were awarded the certificate and trophy.
