About Us
Department of Electrical Engineering was established in year 2006.
The department is a dynamic and growing community of scholars with an emphasis on research-oriented teaching and is active in most of the dimensions of electrical engineering.
Apart from academics, R&D, consultancy, continuing education programmes and administrative responsibilities, the faculty participates in many interdisciplinary activities for the perpetual enhancement of teaching skills. The department faculty regularly contributes to conferences and journals at The National and International levels for the sake of upgrading knowledge in the respective fields. The graduates of the department venture out for a wide range of organizations including reputed MNC’s (Adani Power, TCS, Infosys Ltd. C&G, etc.), PSU’s (PGCIL, BHEL, BARC, etc.), Armed Forces and Indian Engineering Services (IES). The students are also successfully seeking admissions in reputed universities all around the world for further studies and global exposure.
Electrical is an exciting and dynamic field. Electrical engineers are demand of the day since they are responsible for generation, transmission and conversion of electrical power. Department of Electrical Engineering offers one UG programmed. The department has qualified and experienced faculty in all the fields like electrical machines, electrical power systems, power electronics and drives, process control and instrumentation, applied electronics, high voltage engineering etc. The theoretical knowledge is further supplemented by well-equipped laboratories
Vision
To promote specialized knowledge in the field of Electrical Engineering along with interdisciplinary awareness and to develop a framework to support the communicative and ethical needs of industry and society at global level.
Mission
- To impart quality education in the field of Electrical Engineering and to pursue research and higher studies by providing latest development through expert lectures, conferences and workshops.
- To facilitate and develop students for their better employability to adapt the changing needs.
- To encourage students and faculty members to undertake industry sponsored projects.
As the Head of the Department, I have a vision to carve a niche in the power and electronics arena so that the department stands out and most of the students get motivated towards having startups of their own.
My wish is that our department should be looked up to as a ROLE MODEL – sculptor and get International recognition in training Engineering students as Industry-Ready Ethical Professional Engineers of our nation. Though the existing qualified staff and well-equipped labs are assets to the department, a lot more is required to achieve the set vision of the department and college.
There is a dire need to coherently work with Premier Institutes and Industries.
Sincerity in implementing an effective Teaching-Learning Process blended with Morals is one of the top reasons for parents and student aspirants to opt for the EE department of the prestigious HIET.
Salient Features
Other than routine teaching of the university curriculum, the department strives for continuous improvement by conducting project and design contests as well as preparatory test series to enhance the analytical and soft skills of its student and to strengthen their chances to achieve their goals.
The cut-sections of various machines and transparent models of instruments have been procured to give the students a practical insight into their working.
A generalized Electrical Engineering Lab is established in the department with measuring and monitoring devices, various electrical and electronic components used in industries which enable students to work and learn practical applications of Electrical Engineering

Laboratories are extensively modernized to broaden the scope of basic learning and setups are so developed that students can realize cases of their interest and also implement experiments that are beyond curriculum but proindustrial.
In addition, laboratories provide all the facilities to give practical awareness to the learners regarding industrial prototypes.
